COMPANY

Nautilus Defense was founded in 2013 in support of the NIWC-funded Indonesia Integrated Maritime Surveillance System (IMSS). Today, Nautilus is a world leader in the development and production of advanced textile-integrated systems. Nautilus’ novel textile-electronics integration technologies enable the development and domestic manufacture of innovative products for national defense, medical, aerospace, and other applications.

Textile-INtegrated ELectronic SYSTEMS

Nautilus is actively developing advanced textile-integrated electronic systems.  Textiles and electronics enable vastly different capabilities and bear equally disparate constraints. Nautilus is focused on the development of novel engineered materials and integration methods to facilitate the Department of Defense's ability to leverage these capabilities within a unified system.  These systems allow for the transparent integration of electrical data and power networks, distributed sensor systems, and antenna arrays within traditional textile structures.

COSPAS-SARSAT MEOSAR GLOBAL DEPLOYMENT

Since their inception in 1982, over 60,000 people have been rescued thanks to Search and Rescue Satellite Aided Tracking (SARSAT) systems. Nautilus supported the global deployment of next generation Medium Earth Orbit Search and Rescue (MEOSAR) ground segment systems. Leveraging Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), the implementation of MEOSAR systems improved Cospas-Sarsat's 45 member-nations' ability to detect and locate emergency beacons worldwide. Nautilus provided systems engineering, system production, and field engineering services in support of our partner's global MEOSAR deployment efforts.

Integrated Maritime surveillance system

Nautilus team members have served as Subject Matter Experts throughout the life of the NIWC-funded Integrated Maritime Surveillance System (IMSS), a Phase III SBIR project.  These coastal and shipboard multimodal sensor system enable critical maritime domain awareness capabilities for the United States' allies. The IMSS anti-terrorism anti-piracy system consists of 37 Indonesian and 9 Malaysian installations along the Strait of Malacca, Makassar Strait, and the South Celebes Sea.
